I'm looking for information on one of my ancestors. Family records have the spelling as "Kochendorffer" although I figure it was a spelling error. Julius D. Kochendorfer was born abt 1834 in Cassell, Prussia, Germany (date by 1880 census in Massachusettes), He immigrated to the States in 1853. Family records shows him being born in 1838 (he either misled the family or the census taker). He settled in Cambridge MA and was a typesetter for Harvard living on Brattle Street, when he left Harvard he moved to Dover. When he immigrated he changed his last name to Howard. In 1862 he married Katherine Barbara Shumacher and they had 7 children.

Any of this familiar???

Spencer
