Hi Trish and BJ,
Thanks BJ for joining us with this matter. This could be a major find. The Indian ancestry could explain why we have not been able to document GGG Grandmother Sarah's maiden name. BJ, take note that Trish is using John instead of James as the name of Sarah's husband. If you remember when you and I were helping Wendy document her ancestor William Marion Knowles son of Andrew Sr. and Nancy I wrote that two of my direct ancestors said his full name was John James Knowles. If this is our James and Sarah Knowles this would help establish this. Trish, you said you fatherInLaw lives in Excel, Monroe county, Alabama. I live in Century, Florida and operate a Automotive Transmission shop here. Century Fl. and Flomaton Al. are seperated only by the RailRoad track on the state line. Excel is around 40 miles from here. Robert Harrison Knowles that I spoke of in my last reply is Buried at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery a few miles up the road from Excel at Frisco City. From what I understand your FatherInLaw is a decendant of John(or James or both)Knowles and Sallie(Sarah)Love. If he does'nt want his name posted here at the Knowles board, ask him if you can e-mail to me his name and the names of as many of his ancestors as far back as he knows and I might be able to confirm or non confirm our theory here. Sarah the GGG Grandmother of BJ and I told the Census people she was born in S. Carolina, so I checked the 1800 and 1810 state Census for love Families and there were many. I can also tell you that if she was born in S. Carolina she is more likely to be Cherokee Indian. The Creek Nation was mostly Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi. My hopes are really high here.I just need more info to go on. Heres my e-mail addr.
