Sorry about the extended reply but I did quite a bit of research on this matter. I found several marriage records for Sarah Love in 19th century Alabama but none to James Knowles. Now that I know the James and Sarah Knowles of subject had a son named Robert, it makes it possible for Sarah Love to be my GGG Grandmother. If we could document this many of our decendants would be grateful as we have not been able to document her family without her last name. On the 1850 Conecuh County, Al. Census James and Sarah Knowles are listed with six of their children, one DaughterInLaw and one GrandSon. Robert H. Knowles is listed as their youngest at two years and as far as we know was their last born child. Robert Harrison Knowles married Minervia Phillips on Aug. 24th 1871 in Butler County Alabama. We have record of three chidren, Janies, James Wiley and Isaac Ezell Knowles. Janies Knowles married Elwood Taylor on October 22, 1891 in Greenville, Butler County, Alabama. She was married at the home of her father Robert H. Noles(Knowles)but given away by her stepfather which was last name Smith. This tells us that Robert and Minervia were divorced around 1888 to 1890. James Wiley Knowles married Nancy E. Lambeth, daughter of Joseph Leonard Lambeth and Nancy Lourainey Allen. They had a daughter named lucy Lee Knowles. She married (1) Harlin Tatum. She married (2) Jack Bradley. She married (3) William Thomas Lambeth on August 28, 1937 in Flomaton, Escambia County, Alabama, the son of Stephen Shirley Lambeth and Bessie Ida Howell. I'm helping a GrandSon of Lucy Lee better document the Knowles line on his Internet tree. Isaac Ezell Knowles was born September 18th 1888 and died May 31st 1968. He married Annie Lee Lambeth, daughter of Joseph Leonard Lambeth and Nancy Lourainey Allen. Robert Harrison Knowles had moved to Escambia County, Al. by 1900 and on the 1900 census stated that his father Jim was born in N. Carolina.
Any names or time frames you can give me relating to Sarah Love might help.
