I recently responded to a query on the Carroll County GenWeb site, but the email address of the person who wanted this information was no longer active. So I thought I would post it here so the information would be available to the public.

I saw your post on the Carroll County GenWeb site looking for info on Nathaniel Knowles. I found some stuff on the Meredith Town Records film of LDS (# 14392). I found a Nathaniel Knowles married to Joana Knowles (don't know if this is her married name or her maiden name) living in Sandwich. He had a son Luke Knowles who was married to Betsey Kelley--he was 39, born Sandwich, and she was 35, born Meredith. Unfortunately I neglected to write down the marriage date but maybe I can get that later this week. Her parents were Dudley Kelley, age 77, and Sally Chapman, age 73, born Sanbornton; they lived in Meredith.
Luke and Betsey had a female child born 3 Nov 1869, delivered by Dr. George Sanborn.
Another child of Luke and Betsey, Annie J Knowles, age 20, born Meredith, married John W Whiteman, age 58, born Warren, NH, on 5 Apr 1882. It was his 2d marriage and her 1st. Luke was 62 and Betsey was 56. Groom's parents were Richard Whiteman, 81, born Warren, and Phebe Willoughby, 81, born Plymouth.
Mrs. Luke Knowles (first wife?) died 30 Apr 1861 and was attended by Dr. Sanborn.
That is about all I found from the LDS film. From the Meredith Village Cemetery, I got a report of Luke B. Knowles, born 1820, died 1886. Betsey E. Knowles was born 1824 and died 20 Jan 1908 of old age. They are buried in cemetery 38 of 90. I don't know which one that is, but the sexton of Meredith Village cemetery will know. It is not the main cemetery (Meredith Village Cemetery). Betsey's parents are listed as Dudley and Sallie E. (Chapman) Kelley. The funeral home was Herbert O. Moulton funeral home.
I am interested in finding out if there is a connection between this family and my Knowles relatives (David Blake and Phoebe Knowles<---John Knowles, R. S. and Phoebe Whittier<---Joseph Knowles and Sarah Paine<---Simon Knowles and Deliverance Goss<---Simon Knowles and Rachel Joy<---John Knowles and Jemima Asten).
I am also looking for sources of vital records from Moultonboro(ugh) if you know of any. Thanks.
