Oh, goody. I have been wondering if the Wisconsin Knowers were connected to the Malden originals, and how. We may yet figure it out.
I'm finding in the course of New York state research that at least a dozen households named Knower (in this country at least) immigrated from Saxony beginning around 1850, but if your folks have been in Wisconsin that many generations, it makes a Malden connection more likely.
Definitely will keep in touch.
