Is the first name Emory/Emery common in the Knotts family lines? While looking through the message board posts I have seen the name several times. I have been trying to find more information about my Grandaunt Mabel Fuller Knotts' husband Emory Knotts, the reason for my question. All that is known of him is that he was the grandson (?) of the Knotts who was mayor of Gary, Indiana.
I would also like to try to find descendants of Mabel and Emory Knotts. The only one I have traced so far is their son Melroy Knotts. Mabel and Emory lived in Salem, South Dakota when first married in 1892, where they operated a newspaper. I found Mabel as a widow later in Belfield, North Dakota where she owned a newspaper alone.
