Chris:

My great-grandfather, Jonathan Knorr was born in Berks County PA, Jan. 10, 1851. His father was William (Wilhelm?) Knorr, his mother Mary Diehl (possibly of Dutch ancestry). I have no information (yet) on how long either parent's family was in PA. In any event, the family soon moved out to near Springfield, IL. At age 18 (1869), Jonathan set out on his own, driving a team of horses hitched to a wagon. He crossed the Missouri River at Plattsmouth on a pontoon bridge, and homesteaded west of Harvard (Clay County), Nebraska.

He met and married America Elizabeth Eller on March 17, 1875. They had six children. Their fourth, Roy William Knorr, was born in 1888. He was my maternal grandfather. The family moved around in central Nebraska, ending up in Hastings. Roy met and married Clara Margaret Panzer in Hastings. They later resettled in Plattsmouth where my mother, Mary Jean Knorr, was their firstborn.

Any connection?
