Thanks for replying on my line of Knopf/Knoph family. I know so little about this family but do know that they emmigrated to the USA about 1880. My great Grandfather, the immigrant, was named Jacob KNOPF. He came from Pilsen, Czech. Then it was part of Austria-Hungary, earlier yet it would simply be part of the Austrian Empire. He was born in 1875. His older brother was named Joseph. He was 20 years older than Jacob. Both brothers lived most of their lives in Ramsey county. Their parents and a sister (may be more siblings) stayed in Czech. A sister named Mary stayed back. The father's name was Jacob also. I do not know the mother's name. The little bit I have on the family is through people who remember and a social security application form that I sent for. I am still plugging away.

There is some notion in the family that there were other Knopf's that were in MInnesota that may have been related but know one is sure if it was Knopf or one of the allied lines.

What do you think about the info that I've written? Anything sound interesting?
