Happened to see your reference to your wife's mother's Stradtman origin. My Great Grandfather Heinrich Christoph Stradtmann (a.k.a. Henry C. Stradtman) lived in Cincinnati from about 1847-1850, before he settled in PA, and I'm guessing that the reason for his stay in Ohio was that a sibling may've already located in that area. I have been in touch with Stradtmans from SC, GA, and AL; they have relatives in OH, but we've found no common ancestor. I wonder if your wife's family is related to the branch with Southern ties, or are they a completely separate branch that may tie in with mine?
