I have a book written by Walter Allen Knittle.He has the name Knittelmeyer in his book and tells of the migration across the Alsache-Lorraine area of France into England and the name change due to not understanding German and the return to Holland in 1709 then returning to the colonies in Pennsylvania.It seems they wanted to make slaves of the children.Pat
