Kevin, I checked out Morgan Co, Ala on my Atlas.
I see it's due North of Calhoun Co, Ala.
The only problem is, your dates are too recent for me as I was concentrating for the Knighton records in the 1800's.
What year was your grandfather born? You wrote he died in 1969, so he's evidently a "generation ahead" of the ones I've been collecting info on.
Have you checked out the various cencus records to try finding your grandfather & grandmother? Do you still live in Ala, or in MO? Your local library may have some info, and if there's a LDS (Mormon Church) Library near you, they are great for ordering tapes for the records of the area you are interested in.
What I would do if I were you, is to check out the Social Security Death Index for your grandfather. You could order his death certificate as that would give the name of his parents. (That would be the best thing, I think).
Hopefully, I've given you some new ideas to check and Good Luck!
