Ok,I have no idea if we are looking at the same family but maybe this will help.
Samuel Knight b. 24 March 1770 Guilford Co., North Carolina
c. 19 May 1850 Sugar Creek, Greene Co., Ohio.He was born to Solomon Knight b. 5 August 1746, Winchester, Frederick Co., Virginia and Elizabeth Simpson born Guliford, North Carolina. They both died in Guliford also.
Hannah Cain b. 1 December 1779 Harrison Co., Virginia (now West Virginia) and died 6 March 1847 Sugar Creek, Greene Co., Ohio. She was the daughter of Daniel Cain b. 1747 Harris Ferry, Virginia d. 1850 Greene Co., Ohio & Susannah Custer, 1743 Brock's Gap, Virginia and died 1823 Washington Co., Ohio.
Now, the Knight family were Quakers and the Cain Menonites.Daniel Cain was the son of Nicholas Cain and Catherine Mann. After Samuel Knight married Hannah Cain, he was ask to leave the church because she was not Quaker. They eventually forgave him and in turn, sent him to Ohio to establish a new Meeting. His inlaws went with them.
Samuel and Hannah's family came to a really bad end. They had 10 children. In 1846-47 Greene Co., Ohio had a Colora Epidemic.Hannah and 7, maybe 8 of their children died.I come from their oldest Daniel Cain who had already left the area with his family.Samuel only lived a few years longer.I guess you can't blame Daniel Cains death on that though because he was 103 at his death in 1850.By the way, I have all the documentation on this history. At my guess, there were about 22 family members died that years.
I hope you can relate to something here.I do have a John Knight who married an Isabelle but it was in the 1600's.
Linda
