Looking for any ancestral information about Lewis Kniffin, born 1832 in New York. 1880 Census indicates he was in Minnesota, married to wife Jane and five sons.
Looking for Lewis ancestry, date of death, middle name. I descend from his son Merit. Understand he was married twice, first wife named Mary (Catis/Katter), 2nd wife Jennie (Bogart?).
Found a Lewis H Kniffin in 2nd Regiment WI Calvary possibly same Lewis.
