Some researchers have George Smetzer possibly marrying Elizabeth Knepper, but I've never seen proof. George Smetzer's children were David, Jacob, Peter, Eliz and Catherine all b 1782 - abt 1794. The girls married Daniel and Johann/John Dull. David, our line, married Mary Kauffman abt 1803 in Quincy or Wash. Twsp. Both b Franklin Co, PA. They went to Ripley Twsp, Holmes Co. OH. Mary died there. He went on to Williams Co, OH.
Your George Smetzer and the Kneppers are in the same place, Franklin Co., PA, at the same time. I wonder if your Eliz. Foreman might be his second wife, then he died, then she married Solomon Knepper. All conjecture. A couple of other Smetzers m a couple other Kneppers later, but in another line.
I'll jot down the George Smetzer - Eliz Foreman connection. Maybe someone someday will have a breakthrough.
