Dear Robin:You can tell that I do not check the message boards often enough.I saw your question concerning the Kneifels in Czechoslovakia and Wisconsin, and although I do not have my Kneifl geneology in front of me, I am quite certain that your Mary Kneifel who married a Soller is from the Jacob Kneifl family. I, too, am descended from Jacob, and with the help of Wisconsin relatives and Nebraska cousins, have quite a lot of information compiled about the Kneifel family.Luckily, one cousin has found the information about the Kneifels in Czechoslovakia and she and her husband went to the ancestral homes there just two summers ago, I think. If I am not mistaken, Mary, daughter of Jacob, has been a mystery to us.She is buried on "the ridge," isn't she? Or am I mistaken about that.I need to get out my Kneifl book (we spell the name Kneifl)to see what I have about her.One of the Kneifl descendants (his wife, actually,...Mary) has done a lot of genealogy there in the LaCrosse area where she lives. The date we have for a Maria, daughter of Jacob and Theresa Kneifel is a birth year of Jan. 15, 1842.(I got one book out) Does that correspond to your Mary?
I would love to correspond with you.My e-mail is [email protected], and my name is Judy Schrader. If you want to share information, let me know. If you have not corresponded with the relatives I mentioned, I can get their addresses to you, too.I am sure we can help each other out a lot.I hope to hear from you.Judy
