Dear cloyce: I, too, am trying to find a Kneifel/Kneifl relative in Texas. Actually, I have a number of relatives who are Kneifls in Texas, but I know of all of them since they are my uncle Robert Kneifl and his son Philip and their daughters and families, etc. The one line that I am trying to find more about is one that may descend from a Mary Kneifl, daughter of Michael Kneifl who is my grandfather's older brother. She was born Feb. 24, 1899 in the Newcastle, Nebraska area and was last heard of in Austin, Texas. Her father had gone at one time to Texas on some kind of trip. The family story goes that he married a woman of Mexican descent. There is no documentation for that story, however. Mary may have married someone in Texas, but we know very little about her. Because she may have another surname in any records, I realize it will be very difficult to trace her. I can only hope that she will turn up in someone's family tree...maybe yours. Could you tell me what the Kneifel connection is that you have? My family of Kneifls does not use the Kneifel spelling, but the two spellings do appear in my records. Thank you, Judy Schrader
