Reese's article is very interesting, but I see no indication that his genealogical data were derived from any source except Kiessel -- and, indirectly, _Seven Centuries_.

On another note, in a query to the _New England Historical and Genealogical Register_ in 1977, Mrs. Alfred V. Kidder says: "_Seven Centuries of the Kneeland Family_ by S. F. Kneeland states that John-3 Kneeland mar. Mary, dau. of Samuel Green. Investigation proves this impossible." (131:235-6) How she reached this judgment would be a valuable study in itself but it seems she lacked both the space and the inclination to explain it at length.
