After doing some some digging, it appears that Samuel Kneeland, son of Dr Hezekiah and Mercy Pepoon Kneeland, is not your Samuel Kneeland who married Naomi Bliss. The principal negating factor is that the former was already in Franklin, NY and eligible for Jury Duty there in 1798. Whereas the latter was in Hartford still in 1799. This is coupled with SFK explicitly stating that the former was never married and had no descendents. With regards to Samuel Kneeland the cabinet maker, I have found nothing to link him to (or rule out) either of the above Samuels. His period of operation has been narrowed to 1789 to 1796. Other possibilities are: A Samuel Kneeland born in Boston in 1762, son of John Kneeland and Abigail Phillips. I have no further info this Samuel. There may be a connection between your Samuel and the Emily Kneeland of the Seth Childs - Emily Kneeland marriage in Springfield in 1811, but I have not been able to specifically identify this Emily either. In looking for Emily, I did find that some of Hezekiah's bother Edward's descendents settled in the Hadley/North Hampton/West Springfield areas at about the right time, but the specific Emilys and Samuels that I have record of were born too late to be the ones in question. I'll email you the specific references. Notify Administrator about this message?
