Need some help with this!
I have a Samuel Kneeland in my family that married Naomi Bliss in 1787 in Springfield Mass. Sometime between 1787 and 1799 they moved to Hartford CT, where their daughter, Mary Kneeland was born 5-19-1799.
I found a Samuel Kneeland in the 1790 census living in Hartford CT, and had 2 children under the age of 16 and 2 adults living in the household.
Upon further investigation, I found a furniture maker named Samuel Kneeland, who worked in Hartford CT with Lemuel Adams from 1790 until the early 1800's. I also found a book "Early American Cabinet Makers", that lists a Samuel Kneeland 1755-1828, as having a biography in it.
Digging deeper, I found a Samuel Kneeland who was born 5-16-1755 in Cholchester CT, who was the son of Hezekiah and Mercy Pepoon, who died 2-19-1828 in Ontario Co. NY.
I am wondering if my Samuel Kneeland, and this Samuel Kneeland are one in the same!
Any help would be very appreciated! Please feel free to email me direct at Thank you so much!
