I'm trying to work out if I'm a descendent of the same Catherine Kneale. Mine was married on 25th Feb 1871 in Lonan, Isle of Man, to John Fell (which got later changed to Fayle when they moved from IoM to England after losing the family farm through gambling debts!); Catherine's father was William Kneale per the marriage certificate of Catherine/John.
Catherine had 6 children including William Thomas Fayle, my Great Grandfather. He had many children with Elizabeth Kelly including Elsie Fayle my Grandmother. She in turn married John Barton Potter who had one child, my mother Joan Potter. She married my father Douglas Houghton.
Your William Kneale born 24/9/1848 looks about the right age.
