Hi. I am Albion's Historian (Albion, Michigan, Calhoun County) NOT RELATED. Here in our Riverside cemetery there are no Knappenbergers buried, but there is a Knappen. Perhaps the name was shortened. He was Ashmun A. Knappen, Born Sept 4, 1828 in Sudbury, Vermont, died June 16, 1909 in Albion. He was the son of Mason Knappen (born Connecticut) and Clarissa Hutchinson (Born Connecticut). Ashmun was a clergyman. He married Sarah "Jennie" Stafford in 1851. She was born Aug 27, 1830 in McKean, Pennsylvania. Died Feb 17, 1908 in Albion. In the same Block 96 lot 8 is buried a Marshall M. Knappen, born Jan 6, 1901, died Jan 17, 1966. He was a Lt. Col. Military Government in Germany post-World War II LM. I hope this information helps someone.
