I have a gg grandfather, Christian Frederick Kluge, born in 1811, married to Friederike Hoffmann, who emigrated to Pope Co, IL, in 1855 with his five children and his two brothers. We have family letters that mention Leipzig, Prussia, in Hoffmann correspondence. Since the Hoffmann's weren't too far away from the Kluges in Germany I assume they were near Leipzig. Unfortunately, the only other names I have are the two brother he immigrated with: Johann Gottlieb Kluge and G. Carl Kluge. I believe they left from Bremen, Germany, not Denmark.
