KLUGEY could easily be a form of KLUGE. Spelling wasn't always considered important and many clerks, etc. weren't all that literate. They often spelled names the way the names sounded to them.

If you give some specific information about what you do know of your family history, others may be able to give you more help. Consider giving names of your direct line, what towns or counties they lived in or where they came from originally. These types of things may help others connect with you.
