Dear Robert,
The parents of William R. KLINGER are Jacob KLINGER (17 July 1821 - 21 Apr 1857) & Sarah REED (Died: 6 Nov 1847).
According to my Internet research both Jacob & Sarah were born in Daupin County, PA. Jacob is buried in Union Cemetery in Minersville, PA. I have 2 different dates of birth for Sarah: about 1822 & about 1823.
I am descended from the KLINGERs as well. My 6th great paternal Grandfather is Johann Wilhelm KLINGER (18 Nov 1694 - 1774 or 1775. In my Internet research, I have come across {so far} 4 different dates of death for Johann Wilhelm KLINGER. My 6th great paternal Grandmother {Johann Wilhelm's wife} is Agatha HEIST (1699 - 10 Apr 1780). I have found 3 different dates of birth for Agatha. They are as follows: 2 Apr 1699; 8 Apr 1699; & 4 Aug 1699. Both Johann Wilhelm & Agatha HEIST were born in Pfaffen-Beerfurth, Hessen-Darmstadt, GER. I'm not sure where they died. According to the Internet, they died in either Germany or Pennsylvania.
Johann Wilhelm KLINGER & Agatha HEIST are William R. KLINGER's 3 great paternal Grandparents. Their son Johann Philip KLINGER, Sr. (1723 - 30 Sept 1811) & his Wife, Eva Elizabeth BEILSTEIN (1730 - About 1815) are William R. KLINGER's 2 great paternal Grandparents. The reason I have listed just the year of birth for both Johann Philip, Sr. & Eva Elizabeth is because I have more than one date of birth for the both of them. Johann Philip, Sr. & Eva Elizabeth are both buried in Zion Lutheran {also known as Klinger's} Church Cemetery. Klinger' Church Cemetery is in Erdman, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, PA.
