after I sent you the 1st message I was at the library today. I saw a land entrymen book on Vinton Co.it said this was the Ohio River Survey, Congressional Lands. page 32 name Kline,G. date of sale 4/23/1839 Residence Ho. Co. acres 40.00 Range 17, Township 12, section 17 portion or location SW1/4 SE 1/4. The next line said: Klline Guttlip, date of sale 4/23/1839, residence Ho.Co. acres 80.00 rante 17, township 12, section 17, location or portion E 1/2 SW 1/4. It is possible the same person bought them both. The township is Swan, which is now Vinton, but was then in Hocking County. The buyers did not have to live on the land they bought at the time of purchase. Don't know if that helps, but I saw it and thought of you. Kay
