There might be a connection, but I don't have much on this line. All I know is Marcel Klimaszewski was born September 15, 1886 in Russia-Poland. He immigrated in 1907, and lived with Josephine Kownacki and her husband at the time, Leopold Danowski as a boarder in 1910. He married Josephine about 1912 in Erie, PA and they had Edward, Sweuju (probably Stephen), Leo, Anna and Casimir Klimaszewski. Marcel died March 24, 1964 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Erie. A lot of Polish names were either shorten, or changed because of the complex pronounciations involved. Kownacki is prounced Kov-NAK-ee, and I also have a Szumigala family which is prounced ZUM-ee-gala. I have a Bujnowski line that changed their name to Burns. So there might be something there, and as the name isn't common if your famiy was from Erie it might be. Can you tell me what your line is, when they immigrated and so on? I can see if there is anything there.
