I'm looking for references to the parents of Jacob Kleinhans of Williams Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, Born Feb 1808, died 14 Oct 1878. On 26 May 1835, he married Susanna Peiffer (born 14 Feb 1819, died 22 Feb 1889). Oldest son is Hiram Kleinhans, also of Northampton County, PA (born 30 Oct 1836, died 6 Apr 1908, buried in Hay's Cemetery, Easton, PA). Full references for birth, death and marriage available on my family tree entry online for Jacob Kleinhans: http://trees.ancestry.com/pt/person.aspx?tid=4553136&pid=-1361774810
I've exhausted references for Jacob Kleinhans in the index of the local church records as well as newspaper extracts found in the Easton Public Library. I was able to locate his family in Williams Township, Northampton County in the 1860 and 1870 US Federal Census records which list his wife and children, but no parents.
He is mentioned in a biographical sketch of his grandson Arthur B. Kleinhans in the book published in 1920 called History of Northampton County [Pennsylvania] and The Grand Valley of the Lehigh" by William J. Heller. Volume III, pages 478-479 simply with the sentence: "Jacob Kleinhans was a tailor by trade, but also a farmerand land owner in Williams Township." Again, no mention of his parents.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
