There is more than one Kleiner family. The first thing you need to do is determine/find out if your Kleiners are the Swiss-German ones or the Jewish ones. Mine are Swiss-German who originate out of Untermettmentstetten, Canton of Zuerich, Switzerland. Some of the Swiss Kleiners migrated into other parts of Europe and Germany. Records of them exist in different is important to remember that many Swiss and Southern Germans were mercenaries and skilled craftsmen migrating for periods of time to other places. Sometimes they remained where they migrated to but many times they went back and forth between Switzerland and wherever they were hired to do a job.

Please feel free to send any information regarding your Kleiner ancestors of Pennsylvania to me and I will try to assist as best I can in your search.
