Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
From the early church records there were only 2 entries for 1755 and I did not see any Matthias. You may want to see if you can find something else from the following early church records: http://raub-and-more.com/resources.html The early Kleins can be seen as Kleinhans at the Williams Township Church from Northampton Co., Pa. Some of this family moved across the river to Sussex Co., NJ where the above church built a new church named St. James Lutheran Church (better known as the Straw Church). Both these church records stem back to the 1700's and can be found from the website above. Several of the names from these records include Ludwig, Gottfried, Jacob, George, Frederick, Johan, and Johannes, and Christian for the Kleins / Kleinhans, and includes the oldest Klein that I have seen here in the U.S. which is the following death record:
1784, Nov. 17. Phillip Wilhelm Klein, born in Bendorf in Hagenburg, 1711, was married nearly fifty years, and had five sons and four daughters. Died of rehumatism and consumption, age 73 years.--St. James Church
