Hi Jan,
Nick Kleber was the son of Andrew Kleber who was born in Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany in 1844. Andrew is one that I am trying to identify as it is too much of a coincidence that he was born in Darmstadt, the US homeland of my Pittsburgh Klebers. Who was he? Who was his father? Was his father Henry Kleber? I feel that Henry Kleber was married at least twice, both times in the Darmstadt area and the second time to Christiane Manns who then had all three of her children in Germany in the 1860s before coming to the US with Henry and settling in Pittsburgh. I am now entertaining the thought that Andrew was the son of a woman named Thelka Kleber who was buried in the Kleber family plot in Pittsburgh next to Henry. Then again he could be a nephew of Henry or cousin or .......... Remember that Henry was born in 1817.
See the 1880 census that LDS has posted, it's great!!!!
