What a Christmas Present!! I have looking on and off for Loretta "Retta" Kitell for several years to fill in my SHADE line. She was married to Charles Shade, in Bureau Co,IL in Nov 1876. I never thought to look under Loretta until I found her living with her father in law in Oregon City ,OR 1900 census. Through the Oregon State Archives she is listed as dying June 5, 1914 though they have no death certificate listed, it must be there somewheres. I am again going to try and send for it. Maybe listing her parents name and place of birth.

I have 2 sons OrieIrving Shade born June 17,1877 in Bureau co,IL and dyingNov 4, 1963 in Washington Co,OR Have yet to find his wife, if any, and children. Also a son Charles and
daughter Lillian but no info on either one of them.

I found a George W. Kittell serving in the 58 IL INF as a captain , as this is the same unit that Jacob SHADE served. Jacob Shades other daughter Emma jane Shade married George WANN and they also came to Oregon and living in Washington Co,OR And JAcob Shades second daughter, Mary Adaline married Phillip Hassler in May 14, 1866 also in Bureau CO. She is ancestor.
Is this George W Kittell Loretta father? I haven't been able to locate any other Kittell's living in the vicinity of Bureau Co, except this George-living in Shabbona, DeKalb, IL

I will be very happy to send what I have on Jacob Shades line for any info on the Kittell's There is also a complete Family Information on the ancestors on Jacob and his brother Jonathan on Family Tree Maker, and Rootsweb Jacobs father was ABraham SHade born 1797 in Berks co PA
The shades are documented to have come from Germany in 1750 aboard the ship"Rotterdam" to PA and lived in BErks co for many years.
you may also contact Forrest SHade

I am extremely happy and looking forward in hearing from you.
