Robert Edward Kite (b. 1834 Liberty Co, GA or 1829); m. Maria Elizabeth Wainwright 1/8/74; d. 9/11/1926 Alachua Co, Fla., buried in Bradford Co.) enlisted 10/17/61 in Middleburg and was dismounted 5/13/62. He was captured 11/25/63 at Missionary Ridge and sent to Rock Island prison. He was transferred to New Orleans for exchange 5/3/65. After the war, he lived in Waldo and received a Florida pension. Biographical Roster of Florida's Confederate and Union Soldiers 1861-1865 by David W. Hartman and David Coles published in 199r by Broadfoot Pub. Co.

His son was Edward Robert B. Kite of Waldo, Fl. (1875-1921)He married Mattie S. Donaldson 6/25/96. Mattie's brother was my husband's grandfather.
