Tommy,

A cousin mentioned that it was once said there were "skeletons in the closet" on the Kitchings side of the family. He always thought that it had to do with Kendrill's son, John William Kitchings, being murdered! (He was shot to death in 1869 by a man that rented from him. The killer escaped.)

Maybe it had to do with Kendrill instead of John William. Do you remember where you might have seen the newspaper article about a Kendrill Kitchings being hung for murder? They lived for a while in Abbeville District, SC, but I think the family later moved to GA. I am very curious about this lead.
