there is a book by a guy named Irving (Howard's brother-in-law)in the Manhattan 42nd street library about J. Howard Kitching. I believe that it's, More than a Conquror, or "Not as Conquror". My grandfather's uncle was in Company A of the 6th Heavy Artillery and was killed at Cedar Creek.
