Wow, so pleased to hear from you. My Grandfather was Thomas Kitching, youngest son of Alfred and Isabella born in 1884. I don't know how or why Alfred went to USA, only that on his return he brought his daughter Ella with him. Alfred's father was Michael b.1815 who worked for some time in Darlington(probably railway). He had a sister Sarah b.1837 and brother James b.1845. His wife was Mary Mitchell, hence Thomas being called Thomas Mitchell Kitching. Look forward to hearing from you. My mother is still alive and often mentions Vera. Regards Sheelagh
