Ransom Kitchens appears to have died in Jackson Co., AL between the 1850 and 1860 censuses. Parthena Kitchens resides with son William Kitchens in Jackson Co. in the 1860 census (son Duncan also resides with them there).

In the 1870 census, following the Civil War, Parthena is recorded next to Duncan Kitchens and wife Malinda and two children, in Jackson Co., AL, Fackler Station.

In 1870 Bray Coleman is recorded in Jackson Co., AL, Sub Division 3., with wife Sarah (born 1845) and two children. Sarah apparently died in Mitchell Co., TX about 1895-1898. The 1900 census records Bray with a second wife, also named Sarah, born 1864.
