The earliest record of Zachariah Kitchen's father Charles is that he was buying land in S.C. and serving in French and Indian War from S.C. in 1750's. He had a son William Summerford alais Kitchens by Jane Summerford in Jan-Mar 1753, Zack was born DEC 23, 1753.
I do not know where he came from and have not done a great amount of work to find him.
Kitchens and Kintchen are interchangable in VA. as well as Kitchin.
As far as Zach name it was out of Bible and at time period a popular name.
