Victoria, Your dad's opinion about "foolishness" and then adding data seems to mirror my experience. Lots of data is forgotten. Concerning your posts. When I was starting out I was advised to put localities and date in my posts. That helps researchers trying to string together dozens of loose ties. I find to this day that this helps. Good luck.
