Mrs. Jeannette Comstock, 88, of RR#2 Box 2108, Laceyville, passed away
at
the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville early Sunday morning, May 15,
2005.
She was born in Herrickville, Pa., on March 23, 1917, a daughter of the
late
Fred D. and Florence Smith Kissell. Mrs. Comstock was a wife of Kenneth
R.
Comstock, who passed away on May 14, 1992.
Mr. Comstock was a graduate of the Laceyville High School, and also the
Pittston Hospital School of Nursing, with a registered nursing degree.
For a
number of years, she was a nurse, working at the Pittston Hospital. She
also
was a home health nurse, and worked for many years at local Red Cross
blood
drives. For many years, she worked with her husband in the family
hardware
business, and his laundry business, Alpine Cleaning.
Surviving are a son-in-law, Michael Hammond, of Benton Harbor, Mich.; a
sister, Mrs. Eva Lathrop, of Dimock, Pa.; a brother, Ray Kissell, of
Spokane, Wash.; two grandchildren, David Hammond, of Shickshinny; Joy
Lampton, of Bremen, Ind.; four great-grandchildren, Samantha, Quentin,
Morgan, Alexandria Lampton. Besides her parents and husband, she was
preceded in death by a daughter, Faith Hammond, on July 14, 2000; an
infant
son, David Comstock; and an infant daughter, Jean Ann Comstock.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at the
Braintrim Baptist Church, Laceyville, with the Rev. Thomas Davis and
the
Rev. Richard Vieldhouse officiating. Interment will be in the Lacey St.
Cemetery in Laceyville.
Family and friends may call one hour prior to services Wednesday.
Arrangements are by the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main Street, Laceyville.

Braintrim Baptist Church Library, PO Box 281, Laceyville, PA 18623.
