Kisner Family Genealogy Forum

I am not a member of this family, but I have a book with a little information: "About the year 1763, during Pontiac's War, Jacob Kisner constructed a fortified log house on Brushy Run, a tributary of Dillon's Run and the Great Cacapon River in Capon District, Hampshire County, West Virginia, in what is now known as Gunbarrel Hollow."... "In 1795 Kisner acquired by deed from the governor of Virginia 80 acres on North River." There is no further information on this man, but this might give you a lead. The Berkeley County Historical Society in Martinsburg, WV has great records. The book I have is "Frontier Forts Along the Potomac and its Tributaries" by William H. Ansel, Jr. I believe it is still available for purchase.
