Trying to research my father's last name

It's possible we are related:First, my grandfather Alfred's parents were divorced about 1899 and his father remarried and had a bunch more children that I don't know much about. My Kislings grew up in Barron County WI about 100 mi. east of StPaul MN.My Great Grandfather's second marriage was spent around Cameron WI where he is buried. Many of his children settled around Barron county and many descendants still live around Barron, Cameron and Rice Lake WI.
Second, my gg grandfather died in Baltimore MD in the early 1870's and his widow moved to Iowa remarried and moved again to Barron County where she died in 1923. Some of her Kisling children may have stayed in Iowa and started a family branch there.
Third my gg grandfather's brothers Richard and Paul arrivedMay 25,1866 in Baltimore with their parents and sisters aboard the ship J.L.Thierman out of Bremen. I know nothing of my GG grandfather Louis' siblings and parents beyond their names. I'm trying to establish the family origins in Germany but progress is slow. My family tree is in the World Family tree Vol.8 tree #1929.
Let me know if any of this applies to your family and I'll be happy to pass on more details as they become available to me.
