Kish/Keish...Hartford, Connecticut
I'm still searching to find out more about my family name, Keish.I talked to another Keish (unrelated I think) from Ohio who said her great grandfather changed the name from Kish to Keish because there were so many Kish families in Ohio. That's the only lead I have to my history, so I'm learning all I can about Kish to see if I find a connection. My great grandfather came from Hartford, Conn. around 1900. That's the farthest back I know. His son, Frederick Keish, was born in Conn. around 1920. I see a lot of Hungarian listings pop up for Kish... I wonder if Keish is from the Hungarian Kish. Has anyone heard of the Kish/Keish change?
