There are two William Kirtleys on the 1810 census in Green County, Kentucky.Neither is living alone.
The William Kirtley on page 246 has 2 males under 10, 1 male of 26 and under 45, 1 female under 10, and 1 female of 16 and under 26.He was the son of Thomas Kirtley (d. 1818 Green Co. KY), grandson of Thomas Kirtley (d. 1798 Madison Co., Va.), and great-grandson of Francis Kirtley (d. 1763 Culpeper Co., VA).
The William Kirtley on page 250 has 1 male of 45 and upwards, 1 female of 16 and under 26, and 1 female of 45 and upwards. He was the son of Thomas Kirtley (d. 1798 Madison Co., Va.) and grandson of Francis Kirtley (d. 1763 Culpeper Co., Va.)His brother Thomas Kirtley did not help with the inventory; Thomas was the administrator of William's estate. He was born, roughly speaking, before 1765 according to this census.Since he had three sisters born 1761, 1763, and 1765, most likely he was born before 1761.And, since it appears he was younger than his brothers Francis and Thomas, who were likely born about 1750-1753, I think he was born about 1755-1760.
