Hi Kaye:
I did some checking I don't have Kirsch's in my villages but I forgot to check another spelling for it. I know I have seen the name for sure in one of the 10 Lutheran Parish's I am working in.
I checked in Karl Stumpp's book The Emigration from Germany to Russia in the Years 1762-1862. There were two Kirsch families mentioned. Here is the information from the book:
Kirsch, Georg from Schwetzinen/Mannheim-Ba in 1784 ΓΌ. Ungarn in 1805 at Neuburg/Odessa RL53.
Kirsch, Konrad from Spechbach/Heidelburg-Ba. in 1809 at Alt Montal/Taurien RL24.
Another spelling variation:
Kersch at Wasserau/Taurien (that is all mentioned)probably a family on the move and it is even possible the ones at Alt Montal are the same ones!!!
The information on the first two is more indept the RL #'s are the numbers shown on the 1811 Revisionliste for that village (census).
Which one is yours any idea??? It would save me typing if you know. I would just type the one out.
I have some Kirsch's in my family tree all but a couple families were all born in Kazakhstan which was one of the countries in the old USSR. The info I have on the ones I am related to is from 1921 to now. My great grandfather neice Olga Schatz married Eduard Kirsch. Kazakhstan is where many of my relatives were deported too during WWII.
Now back to my research I know for sure where I seen Kirsch/Kersch and it in the Prischib Colonies (Alt Montal and maybe Wasserau or one of the other villages)they are in either the Hochstadt or Molotschna Parish's and later probably in the Eugenfeld Parish which was founded in 1863.
I have to recheck the villages I worked on as I did do Alt Montal from 1833-1885.
Hope to hear from you again.
