David Kirkpatrick Snr & Jnr
My g/grandfather David Kirkpatrick went to Chicago from Ballyhalbert, Ireland possibly in 1894 at the age of 33. I've found an Ellis Island record which may be him.
In the 1910 census there is a David Kirkpatrick (46), his residence listed as Chicago Ward 29, Cook, Illinois, living in the household of his brother-in-law, Walter & Margaret Hanna. I believe this David is my g/grandfather because his son, David Jnr immigrated to Illinois in 1909 and I've found his Ellis Island record stating he was to be met in the USA by a friend, James Hanna, presumably related to the above Walter & Margaret.
I also have a 1910 census record of David Jnr living in Geneva, Kane County Illinois. Hugh Bell and George Ennis travelled to the US with David and Hugh was living at the same address in the 1910 census.
I've found an Illinois death record - dod 26/7/1934, for a David at aged 71 stating his spouse as Sarah, which is the name of my g/grandmother who remained in Ireland - could be just a coincidence so not sure if this is my g/grandfather - the age fits. He is buried at Mt Hope cemetery Worth, Cook, Ill.
I'm hoping someone will be researching these Kirkpatricks too and can help me with any welcome info.
Many thanks for any help given....Ann
