David, I guess this is my Kirkpatrick family after all. I am also related to the James Kirkpatrick line of SC. I also have the book that you co-authored in 1995. Thank you for publishing the book. Its invaluable. I guess I did not notice this was the same Joseph L. Kirkpatrick in the book which was published but I am glad you pointed it out. I noticed there is some slight differences in birth dates and places versus information found in your book. I assume the bible record would be correct. Who knows? Its odd to me that Joseph's bible (who was a man of the cloth) ended up in a flea market in Maryland of all places. I wonder who this Jeb J. Hamilton is whom he presented the bible to in 1877? I assume a son-in-law or grandchild from a daughter. Joseph didn't die until 1884. I still haven't figured out why this bible record was submitted to the Pennington Pedigrees (organization that I am presently the President/CEO and board member). It had no Pennington references in it and we usually don't publish non-pennington references. It was fate, I assume that I found it. To explain my relationship: My husband is the Pennington. My mother is the Kirkpatrick, its her maiden name. I was looking in some older issues of the Pennington Pedigrees and saw the Kirkpatrick reference. I posted to genforum right away, knowing it would interest someone in the Kirkpatrick clan. The address of the lady who owned the bible in 1995 is: Nellie V. Grabs, 346 Madison Drive, Elizabethtown, NY Records don't show a zip code but I'm sure it would be easy to locate. Nellie is no longer a member and I am not sure if she is still living or not. Thanks for your posting. Melinda (Pitts) Pennington email mgp383@gmail.com p.s. My Kirkpatrick family didn't make the cut into your Kirkpatrick book, so when you do an update or revision, I have Kirkpatrick information and photographs to submit.
