On behalf of my 88 year old father , I am trying to contact any living relatives of the Kirkman family who lived in Little Neck N.Y in 1942 when my father was billeted with them after arriving with a convoy at Pier 49 . He recollects a daughter called Harriet and a son nicknamed 'Soapy' as the family were involved in the soap business .
He is hoping to visit the USA in 2010 to retrace his wartime experiences and would love to make contact with the family who were so kind to him .
