Chesterfield SC area

I believe that the KIRKLAND's on LYNCHES Creek seperating KERSHAW and Chesterfield Co
in 1773-1800 moved to NC/TN Sequatchie Valley TN area around 1800. The KIRKLANDs lived at the NE Corner of KERSHAW Co on the county line. Their neighbors were EVANS and SMITH.
There are several KIRKLEY families in the 1800 census. but none in 1790.
Also George KIRKLEY in 1800 is the right age to be my GEORGE KIRKLAND 1765-1833.

The families SHUMATE and THURMAN are also closely related to the KIRKLAND family in SC & TN.
I have GEORGE KIRKLEY and the above 2 families on a deed as neighbors.

BTW George Kirkland born in NC 1765 said his father moved to the CAMDEN area and died there prior to the revolution. There is a JOHN KIRKLAND from GRANVILLE (speculation)
that died in the CRAVEN District in 1773.
George also said that all the KIRKLAND's but 1 was killed by the TORIES and he got out through a small window.
BTW also, GEORGE's grandson said his fathers family was ENGLISH. 1887 "History of Hamilton Co TN."

Hope we can connect.
