Walter,
My familiy migrated through Henry County on their way eventually to east Texas. Most of the family stayed in Henry County or northern Florida. I have been researching the Kirkland family for several decades and thought I knew all the Kirklands in or from Henry County, Alabama. I have missed one. I would love to be able to place your Kirklands. The other names you mention in your posting is prevalent in my tree (Spivey and Culpepper). Can you give me any other information regarding your Grandfather, his siblings, their birth dates and even if you cannot give the name of your great grandfather, do you have any names from that era or family oral history? Anything would be helpful. I have been waiting to post a reply, thinking someone else would come up with more info than I, but so far they haven't.
Thanks,
Good Luck and good hunting,
Truman Kirkland
