Attention Michael Vickery, I'm actually in the process of following up information on my Great Grandfather George who
done very well for himself. I have a letter with me at this very moment of which i can give you info however you should send me your email as soon as posible.
there is a chap in america putting a boook together on the family i am receiving his email from my uncle peter in sydney tonight and will pass it on.
Robert was a convict, 1808 to 1860 from Poplar the Dock distrioct in London. 9i'm sure you will know that this is the real thing and you have my email, i cant believe that whilst I am waiting for the library to get the refrence Books out fot me that I have comee across you.anyway his father was a shipwright who worked for pitchers-pichers one of the large Ship Building companies on the Thames.Your decendent Robert was convicted of stealing from a seaman's cabin he was only seventeen at the time. and was sentenced at Old bailley under the name Robert Jackson. all this info I am giving directly from the relation in the states however I have been to the War memorial and have details on some decendents that were killed in World War 2. I am here at the Library today to Track info on our GGfather who was the managing directo of marcus Clarks Drapery in Sydney which was at the time a very large leading Department Store.
robert arrived on the Ship Spoke (Bad copy could be Speke) I received this copy via Fax from Uncle Peter last year and have Scanned and cleaned it as much as I can everything I have so far I have stored as JPG. excuse the typing I realy didn't plan the time for this letter this afternoon and I am heading back to melbourne tomorow afternoon I need to track both here and national Archives by tomorow afternoon.
